💡 Studying abroad for grad school is exciting but can also feel overwhelming. This talk will guide you through the funny and sometimes confusing parts of studying internationally. You'll meet all kinds of people—experienced seniors, advisors with unclear advice, administrative staff who hold the keys to everything, government officials handling your visa, friendly local communities, and your caring but sometimes overly-involved family. Learn how to successfully deal with each of these characters. We’ll talk about why choosing the right university is even more important than getting your visa, and why planning ahead and staying determined will help you succeed. You’ll get simple, practical tips on finding helpful advisors and avoiding difficult ones. Most importantly, we'll focus less on what you might discover and more on what we can discuss together. You'll also learn about your important and fun role in taking care of your "special treasure"—the data that leads to exciting discussions and new ideas.
